USBKill Gaming Consoles Test Results

The latest USBKill V4 Pro device has a full suite of accessories that allow rapid testing of a variety electronics: VGA Ports, DisplayPorts, HDMI Ports, USB-A Cables, Printer Cables, and more.
Our tests used the USB Ports, but the V4 adds several other testing vectors - which are also valid across many different types of products.

Product

Sony Playstation 4

Test Date

2016 December 16

Description

The USBKill V3 and V4 have been tested and proven successful against the Playstation Console. While built as entertainment devices, it's disappointing to see that there's no level of protection against USB Surge Attacks. See the full test video 🠖

Product

PocketSprite

Test Date

2018 March 7

Description

The PocketSprite does not provide power via its USB port, so in our tests with the USBKill 3 - it is not vulnerable. The USBKill V4 Pro has an internal battery and is able to perform USB Power Surge Attacks without host power, so in theory the PocketSprite would be vulnerable to the V4. See the full test video 🠖
